To find more inspiration for our shop project we decided to go and visit Shoreditch High Street in Central London. As soon as you step into Shoreditch, you know you're in Shoreditch, the beautiful train bridge meets you head on and as you walk out towards the high street you see this large black structure with powerful white crosses and patterns, this was our first destination.

Box Park is a company which revolves around using temporary structures to host an array of facilities for the public such as food, drink, music events and many more. Using shipping containers and other easily constructed materials they are able to create a really nice space.

It hosts many different food businesses who have their own separate space but they are all joined up by these large sit down rooms and hall ways which creates a good open space for everyone to come together. As well as this they have 3 bars and a venue room which has a DJ deck. They also use colour well in their raw materials but also using blacks, whites and nature to help break up the black. This all really impressed me as we are wanting to bring this social hub feel to our shop and to see that BoxPark have done it by using 'temporary' versatile and adaptable material gives me confidence in our shop idea.

We then explored Brick Lane and went into many independent shops to find out what they use when constructing their shop, how they lay out and what they sell in their shop. Overall I left with a lot of inspiration from the many shops that we went in to as they were so well designed, they felt as though they were a high end shop with a huge budget to create such an environment, but what was most pleasing is that they were all using very raw, industrial materials such as wood pallets, concrete slabs, scaffolding, exposed walls and even string.
