"An interactive rave simulator, in a box."
Following on from my previous concept blog, I wanted to show you my first, gut instinct idea for an interactive installation.

It has been a really hard time for us rave lovers. This pandemic has destroyed every sort of music event and any chance of being able to go into a small dark, sweaty room and listen to extremely loud music until 6am.
Of course there are bigger things at stake, COVID 19 is no joke and we all have had to make sacrifices.
For this brief I wanted to tackle this issue and come up with an interactive rave similulator which would allow for one person to enter and feel like they were back at a good old Drum & Bass rave, for about 3 minutes...

Meet the 'Rave Pod', a big black box, from the outside, but on the inside, is far more.

From the deceiving outside, the individual will slowly approach the box, timidly, but intrigued and proceed to go in through one side of the cube, they will then be met with a Drum & Bass song that is slowly but surely getting louder and louder, while building up to the inevitable jaw dropping drop.
With the use of motion sensors or buttons and through the users initiative, the person inside will then move around to trigger the sensor or click the buttons to then make a light or visual pop up on all sides of the box. I would preferably want sensors such as small ropes or actual motion sensors.
The idea is to get them moving, wether it is the person has to move to turn on the visuals and lights, or the song as well, they would have to move and jump around like they were in a rave to keep them on - Which thinking about it, is probably quite good for their health as well.
My whole entire inspiration and research for this concept is all primary research - From going to events and raves for so many years and absolutely loving every second of it. I know there are many many people out there like me who will be missing them as much as me, this concept brings the interactiveness of a rave, it may not be a real rave, but it would be good fun to see what peoples impressions of it was, or I could just sit in there for hours and pretend it was a real DNB event.
